Job Description:

This position is the Application Development Engineer(AE) of Industrial Adhesive & Tape Division.(IATD) He/She will work with tapes and adhesives, IATD’s main products, for various bonding applications. IATD has various portfolios. These are applied to many applications of various markets. The AE hired in this position will develop bonding applications with the main customers in the electronics market. He/she will lead 3M bonding technology with global colleagues and global customers. The Application Engineer’s job is to develop applications of products and provide customers with benefits technically and financially. AE also collaborates with various colleagues like sales rep, marketing and manufacturing sites globally. Through this strong collaboration, AE contributes to make the growth of 3M as one team.

Role and Responsibility

• Develop new applications and new business opportunities for 3M products and technology in Electronic markets.
• Active technical supports to develop customer’s new application and to solve customer’s troubles
• Training 3M products and technology for customers to understand 3M products
• Specify 3M products at key accounts and Tiers on engineering drawings
• Provide technical support required to transition the business to manufacturing locations throughout zones, regions, and subsidiaries
• Engage Industrial designers, design influencers and engineers to develop a hopper of projects to move from exploration to production
• Ability to build strong collaborative relationships with your customers
• Delivery 3M new product development process with 3M IATD sales to meet customers' application requirements
• Ability to manage complex situations & prioritize sales opportunities
• Leading skills to control and solve complicated situations where various functions are working together.
• Creating digital content by using digital tools like editing software & recording devices

• 신제품 및 신규 시장 개발을 위한 시장 흐름, 고객 요청 사항 분석
• 적극적인 3M 내부 기술 논의, 정확한 시장 통찰력을 바탕으로 한 3M 신제품 개발
• 전세계적인 3M global network을 이용한 기술 지식, 경험의 적극적인 공유 활동
• 영상 제작, 편집 software등을 이용한digital content 제작

Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified before start) from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the related area (incl. New grad of Master degrees )
• Possess degree of Polymer science, Chemical engineering & Materials science/engineering or related major
• English communication skills for coworking with global colleagues

Preferred Qualifications:(우대조건)

• Multiple years of experience with adhesive technology
• Experience of spec.-in Key accounts in Electronics, Automotive or Appliance market as application engineer
• Experience of spec.-in Key accounts in Construction, Shipbuilding or Equipment Manufacturing
• Experience with OEM, tier, and contract manufacturers
• Analysis of experimental data
• Strong communications and organizational skills
• Experience working in a specification-based industry
• Knowledge in converting processes like die-cutting and slitting
• Experience with Tape or Adhesive Automation by leveraging industrial robots or an integrated automation system
