Job Description:

Job Summary: The person hired for the position of Supply Planner will be responsible for managing replenishments throughout the finished goods network to meet required service levels while minimizing inventory. They are also responsible for overall net requirements communicated to 3M’s sources of supply.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Managing exceptions (materials, orders) throughout the global distribution network and determining how best to resolve supply constraints to balance service, inventory, and cost in the best interest of the supply chain as a whole.

• For Global Supply Planning, coordinate and collaborate with the local liaison on issues, late supply orders, required local service levels, etc.

• Optimizing and maintaining safety stocks to deliver the desired balance between inventory and service. Collaborating and sharing inventory & service trade-off curves with the businesses served (locally and in other regions) to ensure target service levels are set appropriately.

• Optimizing and maintaining distribution lot sizes to deliver the desired balance between inventory and cost. Collaborating with plants and the businesses served (locally and in other regions) to ensure the right balance between inventory, factory cost, and logistics cost is achieved.

• Setting other supply planning parameters (for example, planner code), working with the Supply Planning Specialist as appropriate.

• Managing requirements to the source of supply (including purchased finished goods and/or outsourced manufacturing).

• Reviewing and modifying (as needed) stock transfer requests that need to be converted to stock transfer orders.

• Working closely with Demand Planners on any issues related to the demand plan.

• Working closely with the Manufacturing Planner to determine how best to resolve supply constraints in 3M plants.

• Elevating unanswered questions and unresolved issues to the Supply Planning Specialist

• Executing the Supply Planning global process standards with regard to NWI.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Supply Chain, Transportation & Logistics, Customer Service, and/or Marketing

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Supply Chain, Transportation & Logistics, Customer Service and/or Marketing

• Experience in Supply Planning • Knowledge of Demand Planning (DP), Production Planning (PP), and/or Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes • Analytical skills and knowledge of analytical tools (Excel, Minitab, etc.)

• Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and self-motivational skills

• Experience working on cross-functional and international teams

• APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) certification

• Experience representing the supply chain organization on business teams
