Job Description:

KEY OBJECTIVE OF JOB:

  • Contribute to achievement of national sales targets for the Abrasives Systems Division (ASD)

  • Achieve individual sales and activity based goals for the territory

  • Support and implement marketing programs & NPI’s (New Products to Market)

  • Proactively develop and implement territory sales plan

  • Establishes and enhances business relationships with TOP 50 end-users (80% of time) and distributors within your sales territory

  • Leverage management, marketing & technical staff to improve key business relationships and achieve sales targets

  • Undertake project activities as required by division

Qualification

  • The incumbent will ideally have formal business qualifications at a tertiary level or have achieved equivalence through diversified experience in industry and commerce. Postgraduate qualifications would be highly regarded

  • Anticipated Tertiary education in a Trade or Business discipline

  • Demonstrates business unit expertise of product lines, customer segments and their needs, divisional/branch functions, and competitive products, prices and policies.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS GAINED FROM COURSE WORK OR PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE

  • Trade background or experience in selling Abrasives desirable however we will train the right candidate in both technical and selling skills to be successful.

  • Experience in Professional Selling within an Industrial or Industrial/Engineering market place.

  • Establishes excellent business relationships.

  • Uses key influencers strategically to increase sales.

  • Reports trends and competitive strategies to the sales team.

  • Provides solution-oriented information to higher level customers and 3M.

  • Works effectively in a sales team environment but has the ability to be self sufficient

  • Creates market or industry analysis.

  • Provides information to calculates real economic value.

  • Competent computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Email and CRM systems.

  • Is a resource of technical knowledge for customers, the Division and 3M.

  • Strong time and territory Management skills.

  • Strong Presentation skills.
