The impact you have in this role
As an Application Engineer for the Automotive Aftermarket Division, you will have the opportunity to put your curiosity to good use and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people in the world. Here's how to make an impact:
- Showcasing 3M product, process and digital solutions and how they can increase profitability for bodyshop customers.
- Relationship management with customers (OEM, end user and distributor partners)
- Hands-on product demonstrations for large groups (internal and external training)
- Collaborating with product development teams, channel partners and business teams to provide practical solutions to our customers.
- Creating and implementing customer facing technical collateral and training content.
- Supporting and troubleshooting sales professionals & end-users with new setups
- Field testing and new product evaluations
- Testing & benchmarking the competitive landscape.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Related technical diploma or apprenticeship with technical qualifications
- Advanced computer skills (MS Office etc.)
- Fluent Vietnamese & English languages
- Current, valid driver’s license is required
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science, engineering, or business discipline from an accredited university
- 5+ years of experience in the collision repair industry
- Previous experience serving industrial markets such as collision repair, paint industry, manufacturing, OEM, or insurance industry.
- Previous hardware / software experience with automotive calibration & diagnostic equipment
- Previous experience in application engineering, technical service, technical training and/or technical sales
- Excellent communication & organizational skills (written, verbal, listening and presentation)
- Ability to efficiently analyse, problem solve and implement solutions.
- "Can do/will do" attitude.
- Possess strong & effective "hands-on" demonstration techniques.
