As VAT-IEPS Specialist you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with VAT certification and maquiladora activities in San Luis Potosí. In this role you will be able Monitor and ensure proper compliance with mandatory and ongoing requirements for the proper management and administration of VAT-IEPS certification, as well as establish documented processes and procedures that contribute to compliance with customs obligations regarding VAT-IEPS certification. Conduct reviews to help identify vulnerabilities and establish mitigation plans.
The impact you will make in this role
You will create procedures that outline the processes to follow for proper compliance.
You will schedule and conduct 360 internal audits to help avoid potential risks and mitigation plans.
You will prepare and submit the corresponding notifications to authorities regarding obligations established by foreign trade regulations.
You will analyse, prepare and submit Annex 30 txt discharge files on time.
You will reconcile monthly IMMEX and MRP inventories to validate the correct operation.
You will establish and maintain up-to-date compliance metrics to ensure visibility into the proper control and management on the certification.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in international Trade or related field, completed.
+7 years of experience in Trade Compliance operations and administration (Maquilas & Customs).
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Proactive, results oriented.
Problem-solving and decision-making skills, teamwork, and conflict management.
Knowledge of compliance issues, promotional programs (IMMEX), and supply chain security (C-TPAT/AEO).
Extensive knowledge of Office, Power BI, SAP.
Availability to travel quarterly.
Fluent English, intermediate/advance level.
Work location: This role has on-site working model, with the employee working at least four days a week in the office at San Luis Potosí.
