As a Finance Controller for Iberia you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

Here you will make an impact by:

​1. Financial Control & Reporting

• Supervising and coordinating the month-end closings for Spain and Portugal.

• Ensuring consistency between US GAAP reporting and local statutory reporting requirements.

• Reviewing and validating reconciliations, accruals, and closing entries prepared by/with the GSC.

• Coordinating the preparation of annual statutory accounts and ensuring timely registration (validating accurate financial data, bridge explanations, and variance analyses between US GAAP and local GAAP) + supporting Iberia-level consolidation.

2. Statutory Audit Coordination

• Leading annual and interim audits with PWC for Spain and Portugal.

• Preparing audit documentation in coordination with GSC and EY (for the 2025 transition year) and ensuring alignment between local audit deliverables and corporate reporting standards.

• Managing statutory audit processes, independence letters, and formal signoffs, ensuring any audit recommendations are implemented in collaboration with GSC and Corporate Finance or other teams.

3. Tax & Compliance

• Supporting G2G calculations and ensuring CM-LM split accuracy for transfer pricing purposes.

• Guaranteeing compliance with both local GAAP and corporate accounting policies and supporting internal audits as needed.

4. Process Improvement & Cross-functional Collaboration

• Collaborating closely with Corporate Finance, Tax, Treasury, and the Global Service Center (GSC).

• Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency, control, and transparency in reporting.

• Ensuring alignment of Iberia processes with corporate standards and internal control frameworks (ICFR / SOX).

• Promoting best practice sharing and harmonization.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.

• 5-7 years of experience in accounting, controlling, or audit (Big Four experience preferred).

• Deep understanding of Spanish and Portuguese GAAP, and solid knowledge of IFRS / US GAAP.

• Proficiency in SAP and Excel.

• Experience working with Shared Service Centers (GSC) and corporate finance reporting structures.

• Fluency in English and Spanish (min. B2 level)
