The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Sr Specialist - US State Income Tax , you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Preparing U.S. state and local income tax returns, including separate, combined, and consolidated filings.
- Assisting with state tax provisions, including preparing calculations, journal entries, and account reconciliations & supporting state income tax audits by preparing responses, gathering documentation, and analyzing proposed adjustments.
- Performing state income tax calculations and maintain supporting workpapers & researching state tax technical issues and provide clear summaries and recommendations
- Processing estimated tax payments, extensions, and state notices & partnering with the Global Tax and Finance teams to support the U.S. federal tax provisions and U.S. Federal income tax return as needed.
- Participating in process improvement, automation, and standardization initiatives.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Professional certification such as CPA, CA, CMA, CIA, or CISA
- At least 5 years of work experience in tax
- Proficient in MS Excel and significant knowledge of SAP
- Advanced proficiency in English & good oral/written communication skills.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Knowledge of tax accounting under U.S. GAAP
- Experience with U.S. federal and state income tax returns
- Experience with Corp tax and OneSource Income Tax Provision
Work Location: Hebbal, Bangalore (Karnataka)
Mode of Working: Hybrid (2-3 days in a week)
