The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As an Application Engineer at 3M Sweden, Varnamo plant, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Providing global support of 3M’s local, regional, and area application engineers with regards to hearing protection and protective communications products
- Supporting current products and New Product Introductions (NPI) including creating user instructions, conducting customer acceptance trials, assisting with claims substantiation and documentation, and understanding and communicating customers’ needs to internal cross functional teams.
- Working with global, regional and local customers regarding the proper selection and use of hearing protection and protective communications products.
- Supporting other aspects of the PSD (Personal Safety Division) product line including training and education, customer and distributor support and engagement on issue identification and resolution.
- Conducting customer training and industry presentations on technologies, product selection and use of PSD products. Developing customer support materials including written articles, webinars, seminars, posters, datasheets, and technical data bulletins.
- Participating on standards development committees and professional organizations.
- Work collaboratively with other businesses groups as needed.
- Document your work in 3M systems.
- Support field research studies.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in occupational health, safety, or a science or engineering discipline
- Five (5) years of combined occupational health and safety experience and/or experience with personal protective equipment in a private, public, government or military environment
- Fluent in English
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Master's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety, Environmental or Occupational Health and Safety, Audiology, or related field
- Previous experience with personal protective equipment and/
- Previous experience in roles such as Application Engineering/Technical Service
- Strong interpersonal skills and proficiency at oral and written communications
- Customer-focused self-starter who can effectively work in a fast-paced environment, with an appropriate sense of urgency
- Strong international mindset with the ability to work effectively with people from diverse countries and cultures
Job specifics:
- Location: 3M Sweden, Varnamo
- This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the office.
- Travel: May include up to 20% (mainly domestic/Europe and occasionally international)
