Position Summary
The APAC Trade Compliance Analyst - Export Controls provides regional support for export control compliance activities across Asia Pacific. This role is responsible for supporting core export control processes, including Business Partner screening, product screening, End-Use screening, ECCN-related activities, license management, and shipment block reviews.
The role partners closely with cross-functional teams to help ensure effective and sustainable compliance processes, maintain data quality, support audits and assessments, and drive continuous improvement in export control operations.
Key Responsibilities
Provide operational support to countries in Asia Pacific and the U.S. on export control matters, including: - Business Partner screening, including sanctions and restricted party screening
Product screening and ECCN-related support
Support compliance risk assessments and contribute to the development and implementation of policies, standards, procedures, and job aids to enable sustainable compliance across the region.
Serve as a subject matter resource on Business Partner screening, product screening, and End-Use screening processes.
Partner with peers and cross-functional stakeholders to drive operational excellence in:
License management
Shipment block review and resolution
Process execution and controls
Data quality and process improvement
Maintain trade and regulatory data standards, procedures, and process documentation.
Help ensure business process functionality and export control/ECCN data quality are maintained.
Respond to internal and external inquiries request regarding export control data, audits, and compliance reviews.
Support internal and external audits, both domestic and international, related to export control compliance.
Conduct annual reviews of business unit processes, controls, activities, and data to assess overall compliance effectiveness.
Collaborate with Legal Counsel, business teams, Regional Compliance Managers, and other stakeholders to address screening, export control matters and ECCN-related questions, issues, and escalations.
Lead or support continuous improvement efforts related to Business Partner screening, ECCN processes, and compliance controls.
Provide support in managing challenges raised by customs or regulatory agencies related to ECCN classifications.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Management, or a related field
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Trade Compliance, Export Controls, or a related area
Ability to work effectively in a regional role aligned to Singapore time zone
Fluency in English and Mandarin to support collaboration with stakeholders in the China market
Skills
Basic knowledge of Export Controls, especially in BIS Entity Lists and OFAC designations is a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and regions
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables, with the ability to analyze large data sets
