The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Product Steward within the Consumer Business Group, you will play an important role in supporting responsible innovation and enabling business growth. In this role, you will apply product stewardship knowledge and work across functions to help deliver safe, compliant, and sustainable products that meet customer and regulatory expectations.

  • Partner with R&D, manufacturing, quality, marketing, legal, and Corporate Product Stewardship to support the development, launch, and ongoing compliance of products within the Home Care Kitchen portfolio.
  • Own day-to-day product stewardship support for the Home Care Kitchen portfolio, helping teams address regulatory, compliance, and stewardship requirements across the product life cycle.
  • Support human health, environmental, and hardgoods assessments to inform product design, risk management, liability avoidance, and sustainability goals.
  • Monitor evolving regulatory and market requirements, proactively communicate relevant impacts and recommended actions to stakeholders.
  • Incorporate stewardship considerations into product development, change management, and launch processes to support efficient, high-quality execution.
  • Respond to customer and internal business inquiries related to EHS&R topics, regulated substances, and applicable local, state, federal, and global requirements.
  • Share tools, best practices, and insights across corporate and business teams to strengthen product stewardship capabilities and collaboration.

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution AND one (1) or more years of Product Stewardship, Regulatory and/or Environment Health & Safety (EHS) experience in a private, public, government or military environment

OR

  • High School Diploma (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution AND five (5) or more years of Product Stewardship, Regulatory and/or Environment Health & Safety (EHS) experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry from an accredited institution
  • Experience with 3M systems and business processes relevant to Regulatory or Product Responsibility, e.g. CDMS, LCMS, PLM, NPI
  • Experience in global consumer product regulations and requirements
  • Strong communication and project management skills

Work location: This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international
