As a Data Center Key Account Manager – for Electrical Market Division, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Develop and execute a territory-specific business plan aligned with EMEA business unit goals to drive growth in the Data Center segment.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across EMEA, while managing and expanding relationships with key accounts, including EPCs, Electrical Installers, and defined channel/kitting partners across Europe.
  • Facilitate initial orders and demand planning in close collaboration with 3M sales representatives and partners in each country.
  • Represent 3M’s EMD portfolio, with a focus on Cable Accessory, Sensored Cable Accessory, and Locating & Marking solutions, clearly articulating value propositions and application benefits.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Technical, and Supply Chain teams to support customer needs and enable effective execution.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform strategy, while staying current on product knowledge and sales techniques.
  • Maintain accurate account and opportunity data in CRM systems and ensure timely reporting of forecasts, pipeline status (SFDC), and market intelligence.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, providing training and mentorship to peers and junior sales staff.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet following minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related. engineering discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience in B2B sales and business development, within the Data Center market.
  • Strong, well-established network among key Data Center Hyperscale and EPC market players, ranging from procurement, technical decision-makers, and senior project management to the C-suite.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and growing strategic key accounts, including ownership of complex customer relationships and delivery of sustainable revenue growth.
  • Strong capability to influence and engage senior customer stakeholders, manage complex negotiations, and represent 3M at executive and industry level.
  • Proven experience working effectively in a global, matrixed organization, collaborating across sales, marketing, product management, engineering, and supply chain.
  • Ability to shape and execute regional (EMEA) strategies, translating market insights into actionable commercial initiative.
  • Advanced proficiency in CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce) and Microsoft Office, with a strong focus on pipeline management, forecasting, and executive reporting.
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages are a strong advantage.
  • High degree of self‑leadership, accountability, and business judgment, with the ability to operate independently while aligning with global priorities.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Salesforce (CRM) for managing leads, opportunities, and strategic customer accounts, supporting data-driven sales planning and pipeline visibility.
  • Proven experience with Medium Voltage Cable Accessories, combined with a deep understanding of the Data Center Market dynamics, customer requirements, and solution‑based selling in this complex, high‑tech infrastructure environment.

Job specifics:

  • Full time sales function
  • This role requires regular travel, up to 40% across Europe. The position operates with a high degree of autonomy and is expected to make strategic decisions independently.
