Product Innovation: Utilize your analytical expertise to support product development, solving the problem and commercialization across various business segments.
Technical Excellence: Improve or develop analytical method or technology to support product developments.
Customer‑Centric Approach: Address a wide range of customer challenges through analytical perspectives and work collaboratively with customers to develop effective solutions.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with laboratory teams across division labs, manufacturing teams, and global counterparts to drive successful product development and commercialization.
Your Skills and Experiences
To set you up for success in this role, 3M is looking for candidates who meet following requirements:
Master's degree in Organic Chemistry is required
Ph.D is preferred, but not must-have.
Hands‑on experience operating GC/MS, LC/MS, NMR, FT‑IR, Raman microscopy and related analytical instruments
Practical skills in sample preparation, spectral analysis, and data interpretation.
Experience in analytical method development and optimization tailored to product and business needs.
Ability to provide the analytical consultation and propose appropriate analytical approaches to solve technical problems for requestors.
Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with requestors, internal stakeholders, and global analytical teams.
Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to accuracy, and solid communication skills.
Lead to develop analytical method/ technology tailored to 3M products.
Ability and willingness to strengthen analytical knowledge and techniques through communication and collaboration with global analytical Lab.
Digital capability is preferred, especially to support the development and effective use of digital tools for Analytical Lab.
Ability to prepare analytical reports and basic knowledge of quality systems (e.g., GLP, ISO)
Understanding of laboratory safety and chemical handling.
To ensure the test reliability, perform the instrument maintenance.
Fluent in English and Japanese.
Ability to demonstrate our performance culture behaviors.
