The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Material and Production Planner, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Planning production schedules for assigned work centers to meet customer requirements while maximizing work center operational efficiency
Procuring materials and communicating with suppliers on future requirements to ensure the production plan is met
Partnering with business teams to understand customer requirements and forecasts
Working closely with the manufacturing team, value stream leadership, and others to prioritize and resolve supply constraints to balance service, inventory, and cost to meet business targets
Exhibiting strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Business Supply Chain, Quality, Supply Planning, and Demand Planning teams, as well as active participation in the Tier process
Executing production planning standard work with supply chain tools, IT systems, and processes
Owning planning-related performance metrics including On-Time, In-Full shipments (OTIF), backlog, and production plan attainment for assigned work centers and managing to meet targets
Actively managing parameters including optimizing and maintaining production lot sizes, production cycles, and safety stocks to deliver the desired balance between service and inventory
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
Four (4) years of supply chain experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Inventory management
ERP system planning experience
Microsoft Office
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Organized self-starter
Attention to detail
Work location: On-site at 3M Medina, OH
Travel: May include up to 5% domestic
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized.
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
