The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Senior Manager within Facilities Care and Transportation Safety Product Platforms, you will lead strategic and operational priorities across multiple global products representing more than $1 billion in revenue. In this role, you will lead core business operating processes, performance management, and cross-functional planning, while driving initiatives that strengthen product competitiveness, improve profitability, and support long-term growth.
This role requires a strong enterprise mindset, business acumen, project management capability, and the ability to work effectively in a complex global matrix.
At a high level, this role is expected to balance responsibilities across two broad areas:
- Approximately 50% focused on portfolio operating cadence, reporting, planning processes, and performance visibility, including Operating Planning and Product Marketing Planning
- Approximately 50% focused on strategic and special projects such as portfolio optimization, pricing, mix, replication, and other growth and margin initiatives

- Leading operational support and business performance management across multiple global portfolios with combined annual revenue exceeding $1 billion
- Establishing and managing standard and special reporting to support area, global, and cross-functional operating rhythms
- Driving consistent business cadence through weekly updates, operating reviews, leadership updates, and other recurring management processes
- Supporting budget management and aligning product priorities, resource needs, and financial commitments
- Leading coordination of strategic planning, operating planning, product marketing planning, and pipeline development processes
- Providing visibility and insight on key business indicators, including market intelligence, new product introduction performance, and growth and margin initiatives
- Synthesizing complex business, financial, and operational information into concise insights and recommendations for leadership
- Leading special projects to improve portfolio performance, including pricing, product mix, portfolio optimization, portfolio replication, and related strategic initiatives
- Identifying opportunities to simplify complexity, enhance focus, and improve growth and profitability across the portfolio
- Driving cross-functional alignment and accountability across marketing, commercial, finance, supply chain, manufacturing, and other key functions
- Influencing decisions and action plans through strong analysis, structured problem-solving, and executive-level communication
- Building scalable processes, tools, and operating disciplines that improve visibility, execution, and portfolio performance
- Serving as a strategic thought partner to business leaders on portfolio priorities, performance gaps, and value creation opportunities
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
- Eight (8) years of experience in business, operations, product management, marketing, strategy, project management, finance or a technical role in a private, public, government, or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed further in this role include:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related field from an accredited institution
- Ten (10) years of experience in business, operations, product management, finance, strategy, or a technical role in a private, public, government, or military environment
- Proven experience leading in a global, cross-functional, matrixed organization
- Experience supporting senior leadership through strategic planning, operating planning, and business performance management processes
- Experience leading initiatives related to portfolio optimization, pricing, margin expansion, mix improvement, or growth acceleration
- Strong financial and business acumen with the ability to connect operational priorities to growth and profitability outcomes
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and drive results through influence across organizational boundaries
- Strong executive communication skills, including the ability to distill complexity into clear insights, decisions, and actions
- Project Management Certification
- Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and challenge the status quo in support of business results
Work location:
- Work location: This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.
Travel: May include up to 15% domestic/international
Relocation: May be authorized
