Digital Solutions Center Manager

In this role, you will support the tendering, design, implementation, and commissioning of automation and digital electrical solutions for medium-voltage, CSS & RMU projects. You will analyze customer requirements, develop RTU and SCADA system architectures, and prepare technical documentation, drawings, and bills of materials. Each day, you will collaborate with engineering, sales, project management, and operations teams to deliver solutions that meet customer specifications and ABB standards. You will program and commission RTUs, SCADA systems, and protection relays while providing technical support throughout project execution and after-sales activities. You will also contribute to identifying innovative automation solutions, promoting ABB technologies, and enhancing customer experience through effective technical support and continuous improvement initiatives.

This role is contributing to the Solution Business within Electrification in Egypt. It reports to the Digital Solutions Center Manager in Egypt.

Main stakeholders are customers, consultants, utility companies, construction contractors, project managers, operations teams, planning teams, tendering and sales teams, and engineering management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyzing customer requirements for RTU, SCADA, and automation systems and translating them into technical solutions

• Designing system architectures and preparing bills of materials, schematics, and engineering documentation

• Programming and commissioning RTU, SCADA, and protection relay systems using various communication protocols

• Supporting project execution activities to ensure compliance with customer specifications and ABB standards

• Collaborating with sales, tendering, project management, and operations teams to deliver successful project outcomes

• Testing and validating automation solutions and providing technical support during implementation and commissioning

• Delivering after-sales support and resolving technical issues to enhance customer satisfaction

• Engaging with customers and stakeholders to provide technical guidance and promote ABB automation and digital solutions

• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives by monitoring quality, performance, and operational efficiency

• Identifying opportunities to implement innovative technologies and enhance digital electrical solutions

Qualifications:

• You are highly skilled in automation systems including SCADA, RTUs, PLCs, communication networks, and protection relays within the electrical power and automation industry

• You have 5–6 years of professional experience, including 1–2 years of experience working as an Automation Engineer

• Possess enhanced knowledge of AutoCAD, Eplan, SAP, and Microsoft Office applications, with experience in engineering design processes

• Extensive knowledge of IEC standards, ISO 9001 requirements, ABB processes, and automation systems, with RTU and Substation SCADA experience being essential

• You are passionate about problem-solving, innovation, and customer satisfaction, with a strong collaborative mindset

• Proven ability to independently resolve technical issues, prioritize tasks, and plan activities effectively

• Strong communication and presentation skills, with a proactive, self-motivated approach and ability to perform under pressure in team environments

• Degree in Electrical Power Engineering, Communications Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related discipline

• You are at ease communicating in English and Arabic (French is an advantage)
