Your role and responsibilities (Mandatory)

In In this role, you will have the opportunity to Own software solution architecture across Azure DevOps, SonarQube, GitHub, GitHub Copilot, Docker, Visual Studio/MSDN, and future AI solutions within Core IS across multiple architecture categories and ensure its alignment with enterprise and data architecture standards. Each day, you will be responsible for the design and build, integrity, and quality of an Information Systems (IS) solution and associated IS services delivered to business. You will also showcase your expertise by consulting, advising, and supporting on the installation of new IS solutions/services, or changing existing IS solutions/services.

The work model for the role is: #LI_Hybrid. Location is based out Krakow Poland or Bangalore, India

This role is contributing to the Acceleration and Modernisation Vertical, under Build and Accelerate team and part of the ABB Technology and Platforms IS Division in Bangalore India. Main stakeholders are Internal Business Partners.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Ensure IS solutions are functional, reliable, maintainable, compliant, and auditable
• Approve and build solutions for ABB Pre-prod and Production environments with required quality standards for the supported applications and solutions.
• Contribute to problem and incident management by eliminating recurring defects
• Define technical solutions and ensure alignment with surrounding IS applications through collaboration with architects and delivery units

Qualifications for the role

• Highly skilled in Architecting and solutioning in Azure DevOps, Docker, GitHub, GitHub Copilot, SonarQube, and Visual Studio/VS Code. Ability to demonstrate your advanced experience of over 8 years in Application modernization and Information Technology and services solution engineering.
• Proficient in Python for automation, API integrations, and custom tooling. Experienced in Bash/Shell for Linux automation and CI/CD scripts. Skilled in PowerShell for Windows and Azure resource management. Comfortable with YAML for pipelines and IaC configurations.
• Proven experience architecting and delivering workflow-driven automation solutions leveraging Power Automate, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD tools.
• Deep experience in Solution Architecture, Microservices, Event-Driven and API-First patterns, Multi-Tenant SaaS, and High Availability designs. Skilled in architecture documentation and maintaining Architecture Decision Records.
• Exposure to 7 R’s of application modernization initiatives and solutions.
• Experience in UAM solutions for access provisioning and license management. Proficient in Power BI dashboards and DORA metrics.
• Exposure to Gen AI and Agentic AI implementations.
• Currently Working as IT Solution Architect in Application modernization and the above technologies is a definitive plus.
• Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM Templates. Experience in cloud deployment across Azure (primary), AWS, and GCP. Proficient in Kubernetes orchestration (AKS, EKS, GKE) and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Azure Monitor.
• Expertise in containerization with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Mandatory certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect, or GCP Professional Cloud Architect (any one).
• Good to Have certifications: Docker Certified, CKA, TOGAF, or CCSP.
• Degree in Information Technology.
• You are passionate about modern Technology and thrive to design new age solutions that will enhance business value for the organization and customers.
• You are at ease communicating in English.
