HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) Trainee

We are now looking for a HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) trainee to join our HSE team in ABB Distribution Solutions, Vaasa. We offer a part-time position in which you will support with the HSE related tasks, especially in the field of activity-based risk assessments (ABRA) in our local Distribution Solutions division. Your weekly working time will be agreed on a flexible basis to fit your studies, the average being 18h/week. During the summer you may have the opportunity to continue the work as a summer trainee. Your responsibilities may include a variety of HSE matters, but the main focus in this position is in creating activity-based risk assessments. This means getting familiar with the risks in our unit with a very practical approach and create detailed step by step risk assessments from our operations. The position is located in Vaasa and hybrid work is an option, once you are more familiar with your tasks.

Your responsibilities

• Creating step by step activity-based risk assessments, meaning getting familiar with the risks in our unit with a very practical approach
• Familiarizing yourself with related areas, such as environmental and ergonomic issue
• Collaborating with our operations team especially the division HSE Manager
• Getting familiar with the ABB Way management system, which is our global HSE & Security operating model

Your background

• On-going university studies (you are at the minimum on your 2nd year) from a relevant technical field
• Genuine interest for health, safety and environment matters
• Good communication skills, including good presentation skills and the ability to create detailed documentation
• Independent approach to work with a practical mindset
• Fluency in Finnish, both written and spoken
• Good English skills are considered an advantage
