Local HSE Manager

We are now looking for a Local HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) Manager to join ABB, Electrification Service, Finland. Your role is to actively coordinate the HSE programs and practices implemented within the organization and develop new practices together with local and global experts. As our HSE Manager you will also lead continuous development of your expertise area by providing advice and coaching at all levels of the local division organization. The goal is to support and develop our health, safety and environment culture by pushing improvements to ensure a high-performing health and safety culture with a strong focus on the environment. You will be welcomed to a versatile job environment, combining local and global views, from office work to field installations and customer sites. The preferred location for this role is Vaasa as that is where our factory is located. We also have other field service workshops around Finland which is why Helsinki, Tampere, and Lappeenranta are other possible locations. Reporting to the Local Division Manager and in close co-operation with local management team you will lead by example, applying your in-depth HSE knowledge to provide solutions and advice to address a variety of issues. Your responsibilities

• Ensuring exemplary health and safety culture as well as a strong focus to environmental issues
• Coaching the line managers for the HSE culture development
• Supporting the business by applying in-depth HSE knowledge
• Conducting risk management through HSE excellence
• Ensuring regulatory compliance and providing regular HSE reporting
• Leading investigations for any possible incidents and near-misses including creating and communicating lessons-learned from them
• Assisting and coaching the different levels of management in order to achieve excellence in HSE and prevent future incidents

Your background

• A M.Sc. or B.Sc. level degree from a relevant field such as electrical engineering or equivalent
• Passion for improving and leading HSE related initiatives to support wellbeing, health, safety and environmental areas of work within the business
• Some experience in working with HSE topics in an industrial/manufacturing company with good knowledge and/or experience in Health and Safety regulations and practices
• Excellent communication skills, you are able to communicate efficiently and are comfortable with holding presentations among different stakeholders
• Understanding on the changing requirements that effect HSE practices, current environmental challenges and sustainability
• The ability to manage complex issues and work in cross-functional teams
• A collaborative, solution focused approach to work
• Fluency in Finnish and English, both written and spoken
• Experience from working in the field (manufacturing/installations) as an electrical engineer or work around electrical safety is seen as a benefit
