Project Lead Engineer - Mechanics m/f/d

In this position, you will be responsible for technical lead in Mechanics for all engineering activities in assignments classified as high engineering complexity. You will ensure that activities related to controls/automation within the project are efficiently and cost-effectively executed in accordance with customer’s contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements. You will be reporting to the Engineering Manager.

Your responsibilities

  • Evaluates, selects and applies standard techniques, procedures and criteria to perform task or sequence of tasks, for innovative projects with complex features.
  • Assists in creating proposals for projects through coordination of proposal documents and engineering estimates.
  • Supports Contract Manager in issuing claims (new scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications, etc.)
  • Creates work plans and cost estimates in one’s area of responsibility.
  • Evaluates risks and opportunities, strategizes mitigation of one’s engineering projects/programs.
  • Interacts with customers, contractors, suppliers.
  • Oversees the creation of subcontracts and manages subcontractors jointly with other involved functions, including supply chain management.
  • Collaborates and networks with engineering colleagues within ABB.

Your background

  • At least Bachelor degree in Engineering – Mechanics specialization.
  • Over 5 years of experience preferably in Automotive sector, in Engineering/Project management positions.
  • Basic knowledge of Robotics in industrial environment.
  • Knowledge in International Controls standards/regulations (ACTIF) and knowledge on programmatic safety devices.
  • Electrical clearance needed : B0, B2V, B2V ESSAI, BC, H0V (could be done at arrival).
  • Good level of English nad French: speaking and writing.
  • No obstacles for travelling (short business travels, worldwide).
  • Strong awareness of Health, Safety and Security rules: HSE is everyone's business.
