Senior Business Communications Manager

Your role and responsibilities

Developing and implementing an innovative communications strategy for the industrial digital solutions in process automation to educate and inform key stakeholders such as market analysts, media, employees – as well as customers in collaboration with divisions Aligning and developing communications in line with process automation digital priorities, working with the Chief Digital Officer and other members of the digital organization. Leading communications, including though leadership campaigns, internal communications, media relations, presentations, social media and web presence for the process automation digital business and accordance with ABB Way, processes and industry best practices Growing ABB’s digital thought leadership with the propagation of the 6 digital value pillars and central technology themes such as digitalization, AI, advanced analytics, industrial twin, APM. Planning and writing impactful messages and content to promote ABB as a partner of choice for industrial digitalization Collaborating with divisions to promote industry-specific messaging on key themes, e.g. APM for instrumentation devices. Ensuring consistency in messaging at core and industry levels. Identifying and highlighting key technology wins, successes and applications in markets globally. Creating stories around these compelling topics in an effort to support and drive market leadership Developing and executing media and PR strategy to increase share of voice and visibility of the ABB brand in digital topics across a broad channels including business and trade media, blogs, podcasts and broadcast. Supporting digital experts to become spokespersons. Analyzing and reporting results or metrics and communicating with stakeholders Educating, engaging and exciting ABB employees to better understand and effectively promote Industrial Digital Solution offerings. Identifying and developing targeted and compelling content for internal stakeholders. Executing communication in internal channels such as viva engage, newsletter and townhalls Analyzing and reporting results or metrics and communicating with stakeholders. Owning the budget for digital or industrial software communications programs and ensure budget alignment with quarterly cost tracking. Selecting suppliers in compliance with business supply chain policies and ensure economy of scale, using agreed metrics to show value creation and measure success

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering
  • Required with 10 – 15 years experience in marketing or marketing communications experience in a B2B environment (prefer technical or industrial environment)
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading capabilities are mandatory
  • Proficient with software used by marketing communications professionals such as Microsoft suite, CMS (content management systems such as Sitefinity or Adobe), other martech stack
  • Leadership or management experience in working in a matrix organization
