Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead FWT, installation, commissioning, testing, and handover activities on-site, acting as the single point of contact for the customer. Each day, you will manage on-site presence throughout the project, ensuring coordination and smooth execution of all work activities. You will also showcase your expertise by planning, scheduling, and coordinating service resources based on guidelines.
The work model for the role is: Hybrid #LI-Hybrid
This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Power divisions in 3 different regions: Virginia, Texas and Arizona. Main stakeholders are customers/general contractors.
You will be mainly accountable for:
• Capability to start up ABB's UPS and PDU electrical equipment. Strong understanding of site commissioning and oversight of engineered solutions.
• Perform Service tasks, identify technical problems and make analysis through remote or onsite activity in any Service categories (installation and commissioning, repairs, engineering and consulting, extensions, upgrades and retrofits, replacements, etc.)
• Experience leading multidisciplinary site teams of electrical field engineers and technicians as well as third party contractors.
• Ability to coordinate and supervise on-site commissioning and repair activities to ensure compliance with project contractual requirements and safety standards.

Qualifications for the role

  • College degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with minimum 10 years of experience.
  • Advanced level ability to interact and communicate (written and verbal) information to varying levels within the organization.
  • Advanced level of ability to use Microsoft Office products, write test plans and reports detailing test results.
  • Ability to travel 80% of the time within North America and ability to be away from home for extended periods.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary site teams of electrical field engineers and technicians as well as third party contractors.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
