Your role and responsibilities
Reporting to the Regional Director of Operations, ELIP, the Manager of the ABB Iberville and Edmonton factories is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling overall operational activities. With relevant industry experience, the Unit Manager ensures the necessary activities and project management related to process planning to optimize resource utilization and achieve overall objectives. As a motivational leader with strong leadership skills, the Unit Manager guides their team to foster the development and implementation of a culture that continuously optimizes processes to improve factory performance in terms of health and safety, quality, supply/planning, service, and productivity. The work model for the role is #LI-Onsite. This role is contributing to the Electrification, Installation Products division and is located in Iberville. Responsibilities: • Plan and direct operational activities, including, among others, the departments of production, supply/planning, quality, health and safety, manufacturing engineering, technical services, and logistics. • Guide and lead the team in developing and managing performance indicators (KPIs) for the various factory departments to ensure competitive, stable, and reliable results. • Ensure the achievement of established objectives through the sound management of improvement opportunities. Focus on meeting deadlines, project costs, on-time delivery, and reducing operational costs. • Work closely with different sectors to ensure close collaboration with the departments of research and development, customer service, products, and marketing. • Support and develop talent to foster a competent, efficient, and engaged team. • Ensure resource alignment with the overall strategic vision and ensure its deployment throughout the organizations. • Adhere to ABB's core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the company.
Qualifications for the role
- Bachelor's degree and 7 to 10 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in the manufacturing field.
- Knowledge of various principles: lean manufacturing, lean office, 6 Sigma, material and component flow, information management (4.0).
- Developed leadership sense, respect, integrity.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- Communication skills and bilingualism (French and English, both oral and written).
