This position reports to

Service Project Management Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will support common ABB process control systems at our customers' sites according to work instructions and in compliance with ABB standard processes, quality standards and safety guidelines. You will work closely with customers and other ABB teams and act as a technical point of contact while providing high quality and satisfactory customer service. This role is part of the Service unit of the local Energy Industries Division (PAEN) in Ratingen. Your main responsibilities will include: • Performing service tasks such as installation, commissioning and routine maintenance of process control systems on site or remotely. This includes identifying technical problems and performing analysis. • Providing technical support in the event of process control system and automation malfunctions, including the expansion and modernization of existing systems. • Establish and maintain close customer relationships by identifying customer needs and providing technical support and customized solutions. • Active participation in automation projects, from installation and programming to commissioning of process control systems at the customer's site. Qualifications for the role

  • You are well versed in the use of relevant tools and methods in the field of automation technology and have a sound knowledge of the market for automation solutions.
  • You have initial professional experience (2 years) in the field of automation technology, preferably with ABB control systems such as 800xA, AC800M, Freelance or Melody.
  • You have sound knowledge and practical experience in the maintenance, servicing, commissioning and repair of application-specific products and industries.
  • You are experienced in working with Windows operating systems, PC hardware, network technology and cyber security.
  • A technical degree with a focus on automation technology/electrical engineering or a qualification as a technician is required.
  • You communicate fluently in German and have a good command of written and spoken English.
  • You have a valid driver's license and are willing to travel regionally.
