This position reports to

Production Supervisor

Your role and responsibilities

As a Production Supervisor, you will be reporting to the head of Production, you will contribute to the timely and cost-effective transformation of parts and raw materials for our Emergency lighting department by managing the resources in order to achieve the objectives. The work model for this role is mainly onsite. This role is contributing to the Electrification, Smart Buildings division and is located in Dorval. Responsibilities: • Lead capacity planning and resource optimization for the Production Department • Identify production deficiencies, propose improvements, and supervise their implementation. • Identify and recommend improvements to the technical equipment and installations. • Work closely with HR administration to ensure that production is properly organized, staffed, and directed. • Guide, motivate, and develop team members to reach their potential. • Deploy targeted and effective communications, as needed, and foster an environment of openness and inclusiveness. Coach and motivate team leaders and employees, foster a participatory environment, and change management. • Work closely with various departments and services as required. • Be consistent with ABB's core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions, while caring for your colleagues and the company.

Qualifications for the role

  • DCS in management or any other related field or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience working on a production line. (Supervisory experience is an advantage 20 to 30 persons)
  • Knowledge of Excel / Word / PowerPoint
  • Collaborative, solution-oriented approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
  • DCS in management or any other related field or equivalent experience
  • Spoken and written French & English. English is required to communicate with clients outside of Quebec.
  • Knowledge of "lean manufacturing" concepts, an asset
  • Knowledge of electricity or electronics, an asset
