Your role and responsibilities

In this role, We are looking for a Senior Technical Writer to join our Industrial Automation Digital organization. The role requires one to design and author technical documentation targeted at the platform’s personas. The platform will deliver both enterprise solutions and focused analytical applications to serve as decision support with closed loop capabilities. It will be focused on Operations, Asset Management, Maintenance & Reliability, HSE, Sustainability, Supply Chain, Projects, Business (HR, Finance, etc.), for the Oil & Gas, Refinery, Metals & Mining, Power Generation and such industry verticals. The platform will be offered as Software-as-a-Service on Cloud as well for on-premise deployment The work model for the role is : #LI-Onsite This role is contributing to Process Automation business for Process Automation Digital division based in Bangalore, India You will be mainly accountable for: • Work with cross functional teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and documentation requirements. • Author high-quality product documentation that is appropriate for the product’s intended persona. • Write easy-to-understand developer guides, and online help. • Involve in providing UX editorial suggestions for the applications and wireframes. • Create tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications. • Analyse existing and new content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities. • Create and maintain the information architecture. • Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with a consistent and cohesive voice across all documentation

Qualifications for the role

• 5-8 years’ industry experience as a technical writer.
• Independently work with multiple stake holders and own the end-to-end documentation responsibilities of the assigned scrums.
• Experience developing concise product documentation for large enterprise software across multiple releases paying attention to technical details.
• Excellent written skills in English and good command on communication.
• Working experience in document authoring tools – DITA/XML based tools, Madcap Flare, Oxygen, X-Metal along with Content Management System.
• Ability to quickly grasp complex technical & industry domain concepts and transform them to easily understood text and pictures.
• Worked in Agile SDLC and software development with the ability to lead project efforts and adapt to changing priorities in our agile environment.
• Have good eye for content reuse across the guides.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred.
