Your role and responsibilities
Quality Wins, CI Specialist, goes hand by hand and They are in search of establishing and maintaining a continuous improvement (CI) culture in plant focusing on Customer & Quality by deploying a set of competencies, utilizing Lean Six Sigma (L6S) and CI methodology. Create transparency to monitor progress of improving projects within the plant; Align Plant CI projects to Company Hub initiatives. As ABB, our company is always looking for new ways to identify areas of opportunities in order to make sustainable changes in the production lines, concepts such as Takt Time, Yamazumi, Value added, Non value added, OEE, 7 wastes, VSM, MTTR & MTBF are very common in this role and all of them are linked to events which are performed twice a year and are called Work-shops and led by the person in charge of this position.. The work model for the role is: #LI-onsite This role is contributing to the Smart Buildings Division in Nogales, Sonora. You will be mainly accountable for: • Execute the local approach to continuous improvement and strategy deployment via L6S. Facilitate best practice sharing within the plant. • Work in cross functional teams to execute the strategy and escalate as necessary to remove roadblocks, this kind of task is linked to lead work-shops as described earlier. • Through project and training, identify key team member in each function to support in execution of projects within the location. • Encourage key individuals to further develop skills in L6S and advocate for them if projects come up that need their skillset. • Understand the organization’s vision, objectives and improvement needs and suggest projects, improvement actions and L6S tools to achieve objectives. • Work with leaders to identify and access the best resources (internal) with which to work. • Be a resource for our customers’ continuous improvement efforts, and stay there until the work can be sustained by their own operation. • Facilitate coordination of resources (machines/people/functions) as necessary to achieve goals. • To support deployment of plant strategy through effective utilization of CI resources where needed, within the Functional area of expertise.
Qualifications for the role
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering preferably, Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical.
- At least 2 years minimum experience working in a manufacturing environment would be desirable.
- Green belt certified would be also desirable.
- Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes and provide efficient solutions
- Ability to handle diverse activities simultaneously.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Ability to communicate effectively and contribute to team projects.
