Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for a Service Engineer, Site Supervisor at ABB Oy, Marine & Ports Division in Turku. In this role you will be responsible for supervising maintenance activities for ABB Azipod® electric propulsion units. You will execute service work according to work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards and safety guidelines. You will be in close cooperation with customers and other ABB teams, acting as the technical point while delivering quality and satisfying customer service. The position involves approximately 150 days of mostly international travel, as you will be providing hands-on assistance at customer sites. We offer you an excellent opportunity to contribute to developing the ABB marine business and to develop into an expert in our products and systems. You will be mainly accountable for: •Performing and supervising mechanical service tasks for ABB Azipod® propulsion units; supervising and executing maintenance activities, installation, testing and commissioning in cooperation with the customer •Consulting customers on the best service solutions •Creating and maintaining strong relationships with customers, appreciating their needs, and providing specialist assistance and solutions •Identifying opportunities to develop new service applications, equipment and methods

Qualifications for the role

  • B.Sc. degree in Mechanical or Automation Engineer or B.Sc. degree along with relevant work experience
  • Willingness to travel, role requires extensive travelling globally, up to 150 days per year
  • Experience in shipbuilding and knowledge of ABB products are advantages for the role
  • Ability to actively seek solutions; interaction with both the customer and the ABB team is an important part of this job, so you have good communication skills
  • Good Finnish and English skills are mandatory in this position, other language skills are an advantage
  • You are familiar with MS Office software
  • Ability to work well both independently and as a part of a team
