Your role and responsibilities
The Communications Leader role is a highly collaborative role as it works with various functions within the global smart buildings communications teams to help ensure proactive and effective communications across multiple channels and stakeholders. It has a focus on internal communications and business communications and it supports employee engagement across all platforms and tools and bringing products and solutions to life for the Energy Distribution NEMA Business Line. This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Buildings divisions in North America. The work model for the role is hybrid in Cary, NC You will be mainly accountable for: • Division internal comms strategy: plan, develop and execute incl. KPI’s • Developing and execute internal comms campaigns in align with strategic division goals (Global Division, Functions and Business Lines) • Support and implement Electrification Business Area and Group projects where Division is expected to contribute and amplify • Ownership and management of content plan for internal channels: Viva engage and Inside+ (across ABB platforms and support to ELBA and Group) • Write, edit and distribute executive management messages • Develop and manage processes, implement and engage assets across all engagement platforms and tools including activation in the markets • Responsible for increasing global employee engagement • Responsible for Division wide assets and content development incl. awareness: Div Global ppt, employee messaging, employee engagement awareness programs with HR • Support local/market communications team and provide global division content for amplification and localization • Budget management • Communications training across management to elevate internal profiles • Communication Business Partner for ED NEMA Business Line in the Smart Buildings Division, having end-to end accountability for the communications function success. • Product launches, including digital advertising & social media • Segment/Solutions Campaigns: Concept, messaging and marketing asset definition, planning, development and execution. Promotional assets (incl. digital advertising & social media) • Ensure key messaging is developed for product, segment, solution & partners in alignment with global Division messaging • Development of customer success stories and white paper for external promotion • Oversee maintenance of existing collateral for product promotion (e.g. white papers, brochures, web pages) • Social media and Digital Advertising Lead generation (via paid and earned media) – collaboration with external comms • Develop, manage and collaborate the process for global initiatives launched locally for amplification and localization
Qualifications for the role
- Degree in communications or related field and minimum 4 - 5 years of experience in the field of Communications in a B2B and B2C environment (ideally technical/industrial environment).
- Proven experience in supporting communication across all channels.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills. Effective storyteller.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with on-time delivery.
- Work on measurement KPIs and reporting to help track performance and learnings.
- Team player who thrives by contributing to the success of the team and the business.
- Ability to travel and work flexible and/or fluctuating work hours as needed.
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
