Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to successful project results in technology, software, product, and/or solution development, as well as associated Intellectual Property (IP). Each day, you will act as the first point of contact in Research and Development for specific product-related issues and maintenance. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions. The work model for the role is: #LI-Onsite This role is contributing to the Electrification business Smart Power division in Bangalore, India. You will be mainly accountable for: • Develop, and implement analog and digital circuits from early concept phase to validation in representative tests, including: technology research and validation of its applicability; creation of schematics and definition of constraints for PCB layout; definition of verification specifications and execution of verification activities of your designs by simulation and prototype testing; documentation and handover of the developed technologies with subsequent implementation support in product development. Individuate and select PCB components for new design or alternative solutions. • Maintains awareness of state-of-art technology, as well as ABB products and technologies, identifies and understands technical drivers for R&D projects in own area. Understands what creates customer value in own R&D projects and project portfolio of own organization and works to improve operations and increase customer satisfaction according to incoming requests. • Drive root cause analysis and corrective action for issues found during R&D and Qualification testing alongside the Development, Quality and Test Engineering Teams.
Qualifications for the role
- Master’s degree in in Electrical Engineering, as well as more than 5+ years work experience in electrical engineering.
- Sound knowledge in designing digital and analog electronic circuits, circuit diagrams, and simulation tools.
- Experience in microelectronic component selection.
- Experience with failure investigations and Root Cause & Corrective Action Analysis (RCCA).
- Experience in mentoring team members, excellent documentation skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts.
- Exposure on identifying technical risks, protecting the intellectual properties and fostering a culture of innovation.
- Knowledge and experience with Agile methodology is a plus.
- Fluent in English, spoken and written.
