Your role and responsibilities
The ABB Mesure & Analyse plant in Quebec City is a world leader in the field of spectroscopy. Our contract engineering department is Canada's leading supplier of space-based optical sensors used, among other things, for monitoring greenhouse gas emissions and for global weather forecasting. Our plant is also recognized for its expertise in the development and manufacture of a wide range of products that meet the daily needs of industrial analysis and measurement. By joining the Quality department, you will contribute to our customers' projects, as well as to the research and development of our technology. You'll be part of a dynamic and stimulating multidisciplinary team in which you'll carry out a variety of tasks, while ensuring compliance with and continuous improvement of our methodology, tools and work processes. Your role as Quality Assurance Specialist will be to ensure rigorous execution of state-of-the-art projects that meet stringent quality criteria and comply with our customers' demanding requirements. • Independently ensure compliance with our processes, standards and best practices, and conduct project, process and supplier audits. • Ensure the selection, qualification, evaluation, monitoring and improvement of our suppliers in collaboration with the procurement team. • Generate project quality plans. • Validate and approve design, purchasing, integration and test documentation, and control quality during integration and assembly testing. • Participate in the Material Review Board as a quality decision maker and contribute to the closure of non-conformities. • Participate in the Configuration Control Board as a quality decision-maker and monitor the implementation of design changes. • Undertake and complete process simplification and optimization initiatives. You are recognized for your leadership, decision-making, rigor and ability to work as part of a team. Fully committed to the accomplishment of your mandates, you are autonomous, responsible, analytical and a good communicator, both orally and in writing. You are interested in working in a standards-based environment.
Qualifications for the role
- Bachelor's degree in science (or equivalent experience).
- Have developed expertise relevant to the position, 5 years.
- Good knowledge of spoken and written French and English. French is required. English is required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards.
- Experience in a standards environment.
- Willingness to travel on occasion.
