Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ABB’s success with technology, software, product, and system development. Each day, you will identify and implement innovative solutions to relevant problems. You will also showcase your expertise by providing ideas and by being able to work both independently and as a part of a Research & Development (R&D) team. The work model for the role is: #LI-Onsite This role is contributing to the Electrification business Smart Power division in Hyderabad, India. You will be mainly accountable for: • Work on business priority projects of defined scope, apply concepts to issues of moderate to high complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. Demonstrate good technical proficiency in own area of competence, working as a dependable team-member for R&D projects. • Perform a variety of technology or engineering assignments, demonstrating an ability to recognize problems and provide input to solutions. • Interface with internal and external stakeholders to assure requirements are met; build strong relationships. • Communicate status and problems to project leaders and management. Contribute towards documentation of technical design details & test results, participate in program reviews, and prepare invention disclosures where appropriate. • Provide guidance and instructions to technicians while carrying out test activities.
Qualifications for the role
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 2 to 4 years of experience in Research & Development.
- Good exposure to product design & development, quality, value engineering, part costing etc. Design and development of LV Circuit Breakers & Switchgear will be an added advantage.
- Proficient in CAD Tools like Creo, Pro/ENGINEER etc. and simulation Tools like ANSYS etc.
- Good awareness of circuit breakers technology, UL/ANSI/NEMA regulatory standards and test requirements.
- Highly motivated team-player with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
