Your role and responsibilities
As R&D Engineer, you will provide technical support in new and sustaining product development, supporting our highly successful NAM business line product lines. Utilizing your engineering skills, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and will collaborate closely with product managers, sales application and test engineers, supply chain & manufacturing operations to design and deliver improved products that provide extreme value to our customers, and are commercially successful for ABB. The work model for the role is: Onsite You will be mainly accountable for: • Support the NAM Business line products execution of LCAs and relevant environmental product declarations, e.g. CFP, EDP; Make sure the certifications of the environmental declarations are executed in accordance with standards and legislations • Align processes/guidelines and practices with the common approach followed by the entire ELDS product lines; Promote the circularity concepts, as an example the “Environmental Conscious Design” culture within the ELDS NAM business line • Actively monitoring sustainability and environmental legislation; Support the necessary trainings to the local sustainability teams • Collaboration with stakeholders of the global ABB organization Our team dynamics You will join a dynamic, talented, high performing team, where you will be able to thrive.
Qualifications for the role
- Bachelor degree in engineering PLUS minimum 2 years related experience OR Masters degree; product design and sustaining engineering of electrical power systems in a high-volume production environment, a plus
- Previous work experience (at least 1-2 years) in environmental sustainability, product sustainability and sustainability reporting are strongly preferred.
- Knowledge in execution of LCAs, specifically with SimaPro, would be an advantage.
- Must have ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
