Your role and responsibilities
In this role you will have the opportunity to be part of the Global Strategy, Business Development and Sustainability team in ABB Electrification, the largest Business Area of ABB, supporting Electrification Divisions in data-driven decision making to accelerate profitable growth. You provide high quality market data and insights within the areas of market & business intelligence and business development, focused on organic and inorganic growth opportunities. This role reports to the Global Head of Strategy, Electrification and is a high-profile, global role interfacing with senior management on key strategic growth topics, through an analytical approach. The work model for the role is: Hybrid / Global location, preferrably close to ABB location No relocation We will start with interview process in January 2025 You will be mainly accountable to: •Lead bespoke projects, conduct analysis and market research on behalf of the divisions related to geographic markets, segments, technology trends and the Electrification portfolio •Deliver insightful reports, analysis and synthesis related to the market landscape, competitors, segments, technologies, customers to enable strategic decision making •Deliver analysis to support external reporting, e.g., quarterly investor relations updates, annual long-term strategy refresh, Capital Markets Day •Support in the delivery of key annual business processes, e.g. Electrification Top-Down market estimates, business portfolio review •Support key business stakeholders in data-driven decision-making and in the identification of growth opportunities •Develop close ties with the divisions, lead interactions in a decentralized business environment, offering proactive support in the area of market & business intelligence •Collaborate effectively with external advisors to deliver bespoke strategy projects •Ensure the Business Area has the appropriate market data, sources and subscriptions for market understanding and decision-making •Build the strategic business intelligence community and capability and share best practices across the divisions •Guide and mentor other business intelligence members of the team •Drive a professional approach towards strategic marketing, continuing to grow presence and raise awareness of key activities
Qualifications for the role
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a leading market research company, an economic consultancy, strategy consultancy or similar role
- Experience in economic, market and competitive analyses, and commercial due diligence and M&A is beneficial
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering or related field experience
- Experience in engaging and working with senior management including ability to influence and convince senior leaders in a decentralized business environment in a fact-driven manner
- Proven ability to quickly solve complex problems in a pragmatic manner, including framing/planning, analysis, synthesis, presentation and communication skills
- High level of curiosity, eagerness to learn, initiate engagement and collaborate with others
- Experience in energy or electrical industry space, insights into ABB is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
