Team leader, technical sales support

Your role and responsibilities

We are growing our Technical Sales Support Team and therefore looking for a new team member to join us in Helsinki, Finland. In this role, you will be an electrical technical sales support specialist for the Large Motors and Generators engineering and sales organization providing technical solutions and advice on ABB products and applications. Our 15-person expert team gives the last word on our technical solutions globally, supporting ABB Production Units, Sales Offices and After Sales. As an electrical engineer in our team, your responsibility is to make sure that the large induction motor has the optimal electrical design and fulfills the customer’s specification. You have a good grasp on fundamentals of rotating electrical machines and will use your knowhow by making electrical calculations by using a variety of design tools for different products ranging from up to 30 MW. The role requites presence in Pitäjänmäki office approximately 50 % of working time. You will be mainly accountable for: •Providing electrical designs for large AC induction motors •Supporting the Sales, Procurement and After Sales by providing advice on technical solutions •Analyzing test results and adjusting your design according to the measured parameters •Collaborating with R&D on sales of newly released products •Making or analyzing electrical noise simulations together with Technology and R&D departments •Documenting your technical support results in an understandable and precise way in our sales support tools •Committing to completing tasks, keeping schedules, and communicating results •Balancing between the various requests coming from several stakeholders and keeping your tasks in logical order •Continuously improving our processes, tools, and ways of working together with the rest of Technical Sales Support team

Qualifications for the role

  • At least a few years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably working with rotating electrical machines. Longer experience is highly appreciated
  • Experience in dimensioning electrical machines
  • Knowledge of insulation technology, power electronics, thermodynamics, and technology measuring
  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Understanding of analytical and numerical tools and knowledge of electrical Finite Element Method (FEM) is seen as an advantage
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English, Finnish is seen as an advantage
