Your role and responsibilities
As Product Specialist for High Power Density and High-Speed Motors, you will be at the core of shaping the future and driving the growth of ABB’s advanced motor offerings. These motors serve highly demanding applications across a variety of industries, where performance, compact size, and reliability are critical. You will act as the strategic interface between Sales and R&D, aligning customer trends and technical innovation to ensure a competitive, differentiated, and profitable portfolio. You will contribute to business strategy definition, translate business strategy and market requirements into portfolio roadmap and manage the offering through all of its life cycle phases. The work model for the role is: hybrid; #LI-Hybrid This role is contributing to the IEC LV Motors division globally. Location for the role is global - we accept applications worldwide. You will be mainly accountable for: • Managing the global portfolio of High Power Density and High-Speed Motors throughout its lifecycle, from market need analysis to roadmap execution, go-to-market planning, and end-of-life decisions with a focus on profitable growth. • Defining and prioritizing new development initiatives based on technology trends, customer needs, and competitive benchmarking. • Guiding product design and innovation by translating market requirements into clear development specifications in close collaboration with R&D and regional hubs. • Leading partnership initiatives and product marketing efforts, including launch planning, communication strategy, and value proposition messaging. • Developing and providing internal and external training and supports sales and other stakeholders with product-related expertise. Willingness to travel is required (around 15%).
Qualifications for the role
- Bachelor degree or higher in Engineering or Business Administration.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in product management, marketing, sales or technical roles dealing with industrial electric motors, drives or mechanical equipment.
- Good knowledge of LV motors, LV Motors markets, customer needs and portfolio.
- Demonstrated ability to balance technical insight with strategic and commercial thinking.
- Ability to develop a solid international network within the organization and collaborate with key stakeholders to achieve business results.
- Robust analytical and strategic thinking skills with a structured approach to portfolio analysis and development.
- Collaborative, global mindset with proficient communication skills and the ability to work across functions and regions.
