Your role and responsibilities:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure local unit has the necessary capabilities to effectively control products and systems. Each day, you will ensure compliance with internal, customer, and industry requirements within a cost-effective and safe working environment. You will also showcase your expertise by developing and implementing standards and test methods to ensure only compliant products, software, and services are released to the customer.

This role contributes to process automation initiatives within process industries, working closely with key stakeholders such as engineering teams, operations, maintenance, and digital transformation leaders to drive efficiency, reliability, and innovation.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Collaborating with the process owners for refinement and upkeeping the QMS (Quality management System). Driving the periodic internal audits in close collaboration with identified internal auditors and delivering the superior levels of quality in project delivery and services by collaborating with functional leaders.

  • Supervising various processes, procedures and instructions as well as ensuring their compliance with internal regulation, obtaining certificates and standards. Supervising the quality of production materials as well as the engineering products and services and overseeing the process of ISO 9001 certification of the organization

  • Understanding the organization’s vision, objectives and improvement needs, identifying appropriate projects and ensuring implementation of corresponding improvement actions and execute the Division/HUB strategy on continuous improvement via Lean Six Sigma. Leading, coaching and coordinating the improvement projects with lean six sigma methodology.

  • Providing organization-wide visibility of the current portfolio of continuous improvement efforts; ensuring progress and value via metrics/KPIs.

  • Analysing the quality indicators as well as initiating and supervising the recommended corrective actions and driving the systemic actions from these surveys by collaborating with functional leaders.

  • Ensuring the Voice of the Customer is represented within the local division, challenge the management team with customer experience feedback and input for decisions. Facilitating the process of relational, transactional customer feedback process and issue resolution Initiating methods aiming at increasing the operational efficiency of an organization and preparing reports and presentations about the quality management.

  • Implementing a Quality control and assurance process to minimize the defects throughout the design and fabrication of products and systems and ensure we achieve our quality goals to enhance customer satisfaction.

  • Managing the people of quality team, motivating and developing direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies for the benefit of both ABB and the employee..


Qualifications for the role:

  • Minimum B.Tech / B.E from a reputed University with First Class in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics / Mechanical Engineering.

  • Minimum 10 years of overall experience with 5 years in Continuous Improvement, Quality Management in Manufacturing / Process Industry

  • Certification as Lean Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.

  • Knowledge and experience in ISO9001:2000; ISO/TS16949

  • Certified Internal Auditor for ISO 9001. Certified ISO lead auditor and green belt lean Six sigma certification is preferred

  • Experience in problem solving and capable of leading a collaborative setup.

  • Good oral and written communication skills in English. Excellent technical speaking and writing skills. Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

  • Willing to travel as and when required by the projects.
