Your role and responsibilities
We are looking for new team members for the position of Automation Engineer for the Paper Machines unit at the European Operational Center in Ostrava. This position is suitable for both graduates of technical fields and experienced workers interested in the area of electric drives and control systems in the paper industry, who want to gain experience on international projects. What can you expect in this position? Commissioning control systems, designing solutions tailored to the customer in collaboration with our team. This work is mostly abroad (EU) and includes designing control solutions for paper machines. Subsequently, commissioning projects at the customer's site. The European Operational Center in Ostrava is part of ABB's Process Automation division, which performs engineering for units across Europe and employs more than 700 employees. It also includes a supply chain management center. The work model for the role is: hybrid. This role is contributing to the Process Automation in Ostrava. You will be mainly accountable for: • PLC programming • Technical design/solution of the project • Commissioning equipment at the customer's site • Active work within the entire project team
Qualifications for the role
- You have at least a bachelor's degree
- You have certification no. 50/1978 Sb. (min. §5)
- Orientation in technical drawings
- You have communicative knowledge of English (communication with customers and colleagues – by phone, email, and in person) – min. B1/B2
- You don't mind working in an international team – daily use and improvement of the English language
- Ability to work independently
- Willingness to travel
- Knowledge of PLC is an advantage
