This Position reports to:
Directrice d'usine - T-CANReporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating production activities for the plastic injection plant. They optimize the use of labor, materials, and equipment to meet production goals. Their main mandate is to establish and ensure the achievement of growth and efficiency objectives in the production departments to meet customer demand. They implement continuous improvement processes aimed at optimizing the use of raw materials, labor, and technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Align with ABB’s core values of safety and integrity—taking responsibility for your actions while caring for your colleagues and the company.
- Set production objectives and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational performance (Health & Safety, Quality, Service, Performance, Costs) at both departmental and overall levels.
- Establish annual budgets in partnership with the Plant Manager and control departmental expenses to stay within budget.
- Manage production activities effectively, considering profitability and customer demand.
- Provide solutions to issues that may arise in the production chain.
- Ensure, in collaboration with the quality control team, that manufactured products meet customer requirements.
- Assess and determine labor needs, and ensure resources are in place for training new and existing employees to achieve optimal workforce versatility.
- Maintain good labor relations, fairness, and standardized practices across departments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement
- Strong sense of responsibility and demonstrated leadership in areas such as health & safety, quality, and production
- Ability to foster teamwork, engagement, and accountability
- Good stress management and adaptability to change
- Strong communication skills
- Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written
