Your role and responsibilities

As part of building a new ABB Robotics Campus, we are implementing a new Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for industrial robot production. Join our team to create a workplace for the future! As one of twelve skilled engineers in our Factory IT & Digitalization department, you will be a central part of our MES implementation project and you will meet a lot of new challenges and opportunities on the way.

The MES engineer works in close collaboration with the production engineering teams and is an active part in analyzing, implementing, developing and supporting MES and interfaces to surrounding systems. This requires programming skills and an interest for the manufacturing processes from different perspectives: operator, quality engineering, quality assurance, logistics, etc.

Your responsibilities:

  • You will be a part of a small group, where your broad and deep analytical and coordinating experience is vital.
  • Since we are in an intensive project phase, you will both become a mentor for supporting roles from other departments, as well as adept in understanding and mapping our complex production.
  • Support production engineering department and other business development areas as a bridge to MES and related systems.

Qualifications for the Role

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree with 5+ years of work experience in manufacturing industry.
  • Strong technical coordination and ability to understand complex system relations
  • Experienced in:
    • Commissioning in SAT and FAT procedures
    • Project execution and deliverable proficiency
    • Change management and ramp up
    • Technical Documentation and standardization
    • Value and process stream mapping, as well as other relevant methods
  • Analytical, evaluating, and problem-solving abilities and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with:
    • Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
    • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools, such as SAP
    • Manufacturing
    • Lean Six Sigma
    • Microsoft productivity tools
