Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to be responsible for managing and optimizing on-time end-to-end logistics processes to ensure the efficient, cost-effective, and compliant movement of materials, equipment, and products. This role involves close coordination with internal stakeholders, suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to support ABB’s project execution and service delivery activities. Ensure full adherence to ABB’s logistics policies, trade compliance regulations, and customer requirements, while driving continuous improvement in transport, warehousing, and supply chain operations. A strong focus on safety, digital tools, and operational excellence is essential to succeed in this position.

This role is contributing to the Process Automation division in Merida, Yucatan.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Manage domestic and international shipments, including documentation and carrier coordination.

  • Support the Trade Compliance lead in maintaining full regulatory compliance across all import and export operations.

  • Optimize freight costs through route planning and carrier negotiation.

  • Review and validate transportation invoices to confirm accuracy, and coordinate prompt clearance and payment to avoid delays in logistics operations.

  • Work closely with carriers and customs brokers to ensure timely and cost-effective logistics solutions and liaise with internal stakeholders mainly project management, supply chain, sales, and customer service.

  • Generate ad hoc reports.


Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or a related discipline, with 5+ years of hands-on experience managing international freight operations for industrial clients.

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

  • Proficiency in French and/or Spanish is considered an asset.

  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CITT, IATA, FIATA) are advantageous.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Knowledge of SAP would be an asset.
