Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the local management of all project execution activities in the area of responsibility. Each day, you will ensure operations are executed in accordance with company procedures, relevant cybersecurity regulations and standards, contract specifications, quality standards, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements, financial targets, and schedule commitments. You will also showcase your expertise by coordinating and overseeing team development and standardized process development to continually improve the effectiveness of Project Execution teams.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Distribution Solutions division in Mexico.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Leading the implementation of continuous improvements for the project execution strategy for local or regional Project Operations.
  • Ensuring that the portfolio of projects is managed consistently based on best practices and ABB policies, controls, and requirements.
  • Overseeing and leading the local Project Execution team, ensuring that ABB policies are consistently followed.
  • Supervising project execution and performance management through project reviews with the management and Project Managers to ensure contract fulfillment and approving any project deviations.
  • Ensuring all staff (under scope) understand ABB’s core values and group safety and integrity standards and act accordingly.
  • Ensuring integrity and compliance with ABB values and ethics in all activities across all teams in scope.

Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical, Electro-Mechanical Engineering
  • 8+ Years Experience managing complex projects & large customers as EPCs (Kewit, Techint, ICA, CICSA, etc.) and Government customers (CFE, PEMEX, SEDENA, etc.)
  • 5 years Team leadership experience.
  • Good PMI/PMBOK knowledge and experience, PMP certification.
  • Financial concepts understanding. P&L experience
  • MS Project (or similar PM software), Excel and ERP (SAP, others) experience.
  • Advaced English and Ability to travel 50% national
