Location – onsite
Your role and responsibilities- Instructs, supervises and coordinates the related engineering teams of ABB (incl. PAEN & ABB factory) and sub-suppliers in order to secure the integrity, completeness and correct function.
- Responsible for the design, calculation and documentation (Base design, Detail Design, etc. until “As Built”) as per Project Specific Division of Work and Instructions as worked out with project team and local partners.
- Take budget responsibility where design and technical solution is driving cost. Strive for cost reductions.
- Standard Secondary Engineering & Auxilary Power documents/tasks are:
- Substation Single Line Diagram
- Selectivity Calculations
- Calculations and dimensioning of protection devices and cables
- Interlocking Diagram
- Protection Block Diagram
- Synchronizing Diagram
- Coordinate with software engineering for IEDs and SAS
- Integration of electrical subsystems (e.g MV-Swg, Telecom, HV-Equip.)
- Definition of auxiliary power supply strategy and layout (e.g. redundancy /voltage drop diods / switch over-logic / UPS-System)
- Handling of the battery-system incI. battery-size calculation
- DC battery charger dimensioning
- AC UPS-dimensioning
- Aux-Transformer dimensioning (electrical load)
- Handling of Auxiliary load list
- Handling of signaling from/to auxiliary system
- Engineering of LV-power cables
- Engineering and handling of control cables
- Creation of cable list and cable core connection table
- Support LE/PM in getting approvals by Customer/Engineer for documents as per the contract
- Provide technical inputs and applicable specifications for Purchase Orders
- Discuss and agree with LE/PM on all technical matters with commercial impact
- Give input to LE/PM for project planning, i.e. document schedule and required document approvals
- Co-ordinate directly with clients, engineer, sub-contractors and suppliers regarding technical issues and technical interfaces if instructed by the LE/PM
- Provide input to other engineering departments
- List and report all noted deviations to the engineering specifications, and plan and implement corrective actions in co-operation with LE/PM
- Contribute to an on-time delivery
- Give input to LE/PM for selection of Suppliers and Sub-contractors
- Maintain good working relations to partners, client representatives and consultant
- Use of document management system according to project related DOW for secondary engineering documents
- Review Inspection and Test plan, and attend FAT if required
- List and report all deviations (change) to the contract, plan and implement actions in alignment with LE/PM. Support the LE/PM with necessary documentation for preparing Claims / Variation Order to Client and Claims to Contractors/Suppliers deviating from agreed scope / schedule / quality.

- Initial Document List (Technical Content)
- System design criteria, technical project rules & guidelines (list)
- Specifications for assigned equipment
- Design Documents according to DOW / standard-documents
- All required input to other engineering departments
- Up-to-date record of all open technical points related to project
- Quality feedback to design departments, suppliers and other partners
- Recommendations to LE/PM for selection of suppliers
- Inspection and test plan
Qualifications for the role (Mandatory)
- At least Bachelor’s Degree in electrical or instrumentation engineering with 15 years of experience or Master’s Degree with 10 years of experience and successful completion of several sub-station projects as design engineer or equivalent
- Experience in substation systems or components
- High sense of responsibility and commitment
- Organizational- and management skills
- Effective communicator
- High degree of intercultural awareness
- English in speaking and writing other languages beneficial
- Self-driven personality
- Knowledge in ABB’s Products
- Understanding of Commercial Requirements
