Finance ManagerYour Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you will lead continuous improvements in the Trade and Transportation function and manage key performance indicators to enhance operational performance. You will oversee local trade and transportation operations, coordinating with internal teams and external providers. Additionally, you will manage import/export administrative activities and ensure compliance with ABB policies and external regulations, in collaboration with local and country Trade Compliance Officers.

This role contributes to the Motion business in India, located in Bangalore, Karnataka. Main stakeholders include legal, procurement, and logistics teams, with whom close collaboration is essential to embed compliance best practices and enhance operational efficiency.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Designing and implementing strategies to optimize trade and transportation operations, focusing on cost, efficiency, and compliance.
Overseeing end-to-end logistics processes, including transportation, freight forwarding, customs clearance, and warehousing.
Evaluating and managing logistics service providers, negotiating contracts, and establishing performance metrics.
Leading the implementation of improved processes, systems, and master data management.
Qualifications for the Role
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in International Trade, Supply Chain, Economics, or a related field.
7–10 years of experience in Trade Operation Compliance with strong knowledge of local regulations.
Proven experience in regulatory compliance, risk assessment, and internal audits.
Skilled in developing and implementing trade compliance policies and procedures, improving processing times and adherence to evolving regulations.
Familiarity with the US Export Administration Regulations and global sanctions frameworks.
Hands-on experience with Global Trade Management systems (e.g., SAP-GTS) is an advantage.
Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex trade compliance concepts.
Ability to independently draft responses to government notices and inquiries.
