Your role and responsibilities

The High Power Division offers a comprehensive product portfolio, including customized designs for various industries. The division focuses on developing advanced drive systems and high-efficiency motors and generators, which are critical in various industrial applications.

We are looking for a motivated and skilled R&D Engineer to join our team at the Helsinki Insulation Laboratory. In this role, you will contribute to the development and enhancement of electric insulation systems for rotating electric machines, working closely with cross-functional teams in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

You will be supported by a team of skilled laboratory technicians with specialized knowledge in electrical measurements and testing. In addition, senior colleagues and project managers will provide ongoing mentorship and professional guidance.

The position requires full-time on-site presence at our Pitäjänmäki location initially, however, partial remote work will be possible after the onboarding period.


You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Defining testing specifications and test specimen requirements for electric insulation systems and components for both new and existing products
  • Collaborating with engineers and laboratory technicians as part of project teams in key R&D and Technology initiatives
  • Supporting prototyping, validation, and documentation throughout the development process
  • Analyzing test data and providing technical insights to support engineering decisions
  • Ensuring all work complies with relevant standards and regulations

Qualifications for the role
  • Solid understanding of electrical systems, testing methodologies, and measurement principles
  • Proven experience in defining electrical measurement specifications
  • Minimum of two years of hands-on experience in R&D or product development, preferably within the electrical or electronics industry
  • Familiarity with mechanical testing definitions is considered an advantage
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in both Finnish and English
  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
