At ABB, we help industries outrun - leaner and cleaner. Here, progress is an expectation - for you, your team, and the world. As a global market leader, we’ll give you what you need to make it happen. It won’t always be easy, growing takes grit. But at ABB, you’ll never run alone. Run what runs the world.

This Position reports to:

Lead Counsel

Your role and responsibilities:

As Lead Counsel - Internal Investigations & Monitoring (Global), you will be a senior member of the Legal & Integrity function, taking ownership of managing the ABB Robotics Raising Concerns program & wing-to-wing investigations process, managing sensitive, high-profile investigations across the company’s global operations. You will report to the Head of Integrity & Regulatory Affairs, and act as a trusted advisor to senior management, serving also as an ethics advisor and champion within the organization, ensuring that misconduct and compliance issues are addressed with integrity, fairness, and consistency, while protecting the company’s reputation and stakeholder trust.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Lead the Raising Concerns / whistleblower protection program for ABB Robotics as it becomes a stand-alone company, ensuring a risk-based and cost-effective approach.

  • Manage global misconduct investigations (fraud, corruption, regulatory, trade, HR-sensitive matters), delivering clear, evidence-based reports and recommendations.

  • Partner with global stakeholders to ensure consistent, fair, timely case handling aligned with both global standards and local requirements.

  • Build and oversee a hybrid internal/external investigative network, leveraging digital tools, training investigators, and driving best practices.

  • Advise senior leadership on risks, trends, corrective actions, and support broader compliance, monitoring, and culture-of-integrity initiatives.

Qualifications for the role:

  • Qualified lawyer with 10+ years of experience, ideally a mix between private practice at a reputable law firm and in-house experience, with strong expertise in conducting and managing complex internal and regulatory investigations within multinational environments covering full suite of integrity-related matters.

  • Experience in managing and overseeing sensitive HR matters.

  • Deep expertise in global compliance frameworks, including anti-bribery, anti-corruption, and fraud risk management.

  • Proven ability to manage high-stakes, sensitive cases with sound judgment, discretion, and resilience under pressure.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, high level of empathy, with a track record of effective collaboration across senior leadership and cross-functional teams.

  • Fluent in English, with additional key languages considered an asset (specifically Mandarin, Swedish, Spanish or German); sector experience in Robotics is a plus but not essential.
