This Position reports to:

Service Operations Manager


Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work with low to medium complexity as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines. Each day, you will plan and execute work on a first-time right approach with customers. You will also showcase your expertise by displaying a clear understanding of sense of urgency and care in your own area of responsibility.

The work model for the role is 70% onsite / 30% hybrid

This role is contributing to the Marine & Ports Service Organization in Portugal.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Support the Customer activities both onsite and remote
  • Participate in commissioning and service activities in different projects
  • Working with the customer (while on-site) to identify opportunities to improve the customer’s operations and eliminate pain points.
  • Performing field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products.
  • Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.
  • Troubleshooting equipment/process failures, requesting proactive corrective actions, and making recommendations to avoid such issues in the future.


You will join a multidisciplinary team, where you will be able to thrive.


Qualifications for the role

  • You enjoy working with customers and support them and your team to solve problems in daily activities.
  • Ability to demonstrate your knowledge in frequency converters with at least three years of experience, DC Grids and rotating machines would be a plus.
  • Possess an enhanced knowledge of technical support, problem solving and customer focus.
  • Degree in Electrical. Mechanical, Naval or similar engineering would be a plus.
  • Willingness to travel around Portugal mainly, but also worldwide depending on the service requirement.
  • You are at ease communicating in Portuguese and English. Spanish would be a plus.
  • You hold current valid car driving license and valid Portuguese work permit.
