This Position reports to:

Advanced Manufacturing Manager


Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with key stakeholders to develop, implement, and facilitate successful onboarding of digital solutions and the adoption of digital platforms and solutions into Pinetops’ various departments business environment along with their subsequent operations and maintenance. Each day, you will provide consultative assistance in supporting the use of products with the goal of improving productivity and efficiency. You will also showcase your expertise by helping the customers to achieve their solution goals and objectives by leveraging domain expertise and knowledge on ABB's digital solutions.

The work model for the role is: hybrid

This role is contributing to the ANSI Grid Components - ELDS , and reports to the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manager at the Pinetops, NC location.
Main stakeholders are Product Engineering, Supply Chain, Planning and Fulfillment, Quality, Operations, Industrialization, and Continues Improvement teams among others

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Executing ideation workstreams from identifying needs to validate and define development together with cross-functional teams of digital software engineers, user experience, and subject mat-ter experts for value creation.

  • Lead and oversee all local digital initiatives including Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), RFID, SAP, AI, and other relevant technologies.

  • Act as the primary liaison between local teams, external vendors, and the Global, and North America IS (NAM IS) EL, and ELDS teams.

  • Ensure successful rollout and integration of digital solutions across departments.

  • Testing and troubleshooting the final system setup and ensuring its successful rollout through training and retraining the internal customers to understand the software and its benefits and providing subsequent ongoing support and services.

  • Develop and maintain strategic plans for digital transformation aligned with organizational goals.

  • Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams in adopting digital tools and practices.

  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with service level agreements.


Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • 8+ years of experience of track record of proven experience in leading and implementing digital transformation initiatives, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.

  • Strong understanding of digital technologies including MES, RFID, SAP, and other relevant technologies.

  • Knowledge of industry best practices in digital transformation and change management.

  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
