Your Role and Responsibilities

We are looking for an IS Functional Analyst with a solid background in manufacturing processes, particularly in Discrete Manufacturing, to support projects and implementations across countries within the “Italian cluster.

The role involves bridging the gap between the technical environment and business needs by gathering requirements and using data analytics to assess processes and outline problems, opportunities, and solutions, to support decisions for new or changed IS solutions/services.

In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact, as you will be accountable for:

  • Designing and assisting in the development of business processes, working directly with the business to provide optimal solutions, while managing deliverables and activities. Building strong relationships within the business.

  • Collecting and analyzing requirements from local business units (mainly Italy and France, but also Croatia and Serbia) and from the ABB Group. Documenting all requirements accurately within the designated application.

  • Creating and maintaining the Business Blueprint (BBP – detailed process description and requirements document). Providing Functional Specifications to the Technical team for any customized developments.

  • Performing internal tests and supporting user testing when needed.

  • Guiding and monitoring task completion, sharing expert knowledge and advice without holding line responsibility. Coordinating with other SAP module consultants for integration requirements.

  • Proactively supporting the introduction, management, maintenance, and optimization of internal and cross-functional processes related to IS solutions and services.

  • Creating and executing plans for SAP requirements and revising them as needed to meet evolving needs. Ensuring timelines are met as defined.

  • Acting as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the relevant area of responsibility, contributing technical and business process/data expertise to support ongoing operations or develop new software.

  • Supporting the Application Run Organization in incident and problem resolution when functional verification is required.

  • Analyzing and understanding manufacturing demand from Business Lines, primarily from sites in Italy and France. Identifying optimal IS solutions and ensuring their delivery. Mapping manufacturing business processes and recommending initiatives that improve efficiency, effectiveness, quality, and operational functionality.

Qualifications for the Role

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer science, Engineering or a related field.

  • Experience around 5 years as SAP PP Consultant with at least 2 full SAP project implementation; deep expertise in SAP PP modules.

  • Strong knowledge of integration with other SAP modules (MM, SD, QM, WM, PS)

  • Experiences considered as a plus: S/4 HANA implementation, experience in process / interface implementation with IBP, APS, MES system, Sap Variant Configurator, Sap APO, Sap WM, Sap PM as well as ABAP skills oriented to debagging

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences

  • Team-oriented mindset, capable of building solid relationships, working independently, and guiding others

  • Open to cross-team collaboration and contributing beyond own area when needed

  • Independent thinking, with the ability to challenge conventional solutions

  • Analytical and problem-solving approach

  • Ability to work under pressure, manage priorities, and adapt to changing environments

  • You are at ease communicating in Italian and English, both written and spoken.

  • Availability to travel occasionally to ABB locations
