This Position reports to:
Project ManagerIn this role, you will have the opportunity to act as commissioning lead for projects with low to medium complexity. Each day, you will ensure completion of all commissioning activities efficiently and cost-effectively in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting continuous improvement of project process/product/system design.

This role is contributing to the Robotics & Discrete Automation in Pune, India.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Design and development of BIW fixtures including spot‑welding jigs, arc welding fixtures, roller hemming fixtures, and related tooling.
- Execute detailed engineering tasks such as 3D finish, 2D detailing, BOM creation, documentation, and quality checks.
- Work on concept and process studies covering weld studies, gun placement, layout analysis, unit building, and integration with Tier‑1/OEM standards.
- Apply technical expertise in GD&T, tolerances, materials, automotive manufacturing processes, welding line layouts, pneumatics, sensors, and BOP selection.
- Collaborate effectively with teams, demonstrating strong communication, analytical, problem‑solving, and presentation skills while maintaining a proactive and customer‑focused approach.
Qualifications for the role
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in BIW fixture design, process engineering, or related fields
- Proficiency in CAD design tools such as CATIA V5, SOLIDWORKS, AUTOCAD; exposure to Process Simulate/Robot Studio is an added advantage
- Hands‑on experience in process engineering including layout concepts, cycle time creation, and fixture development (3D finish and 2D detailing)
- Ability to perform engineering calculations, quality checks, and ensure design integrity in line with industry standards
- Experience coordinating with third‑party vendors including design houses, manufacturing partners, and bought‑out parts suppliers
- Industry/domain exposure to Automotive OEMs, Tier‑1 suppliers, and robotic automation applications
- Willingness to travel and support I&C teams at customer sites across India during execution and prove‑out activities
