This Position reports to:
Associate Delivery Manager MDG-CustomerSME – Customer master data Governance
Role at FAO Service Center, Bangalore.
Global Grade 15 reporting to Team Lead, Customer Master Data.
Provide defined services to the internal customers with best quality in most efficient way.
As a SME, Customer Master Data Governance (MDG), you will be responsible for overseeing a team of specialists and managing the customer master data governance within the organization.
You will act as the bridge between operational data-entry specialists and senior leadership within the Master Data Governance Team.
You will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of customer data across various systems and platforms.
Your responsibilities
- Data Maintenance and Governance: Oversee the maintenance and governance of customer data records, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistency. Validate data against internal policies and compliance rules. Develop and enforce data governance policies and procedures in line with ABB’s internal Policy and Procedures.
- Process & Quality Control: Monitor daily workflow to ensure timely processing of master data requests. Implement quality checks to minimize duplicate or incorrect customer records. Maintain and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process guidelines. Support audits by preparing data extracts and explanations of change histories.
- Data Integration and Synchronization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and synchronization of customer data across various systems and platforms.
- Team Coordination & Leadership: Assign tasks to team members and monitor progress. Provide first-level support to data specialists by answering questions or resolving escalations. Guide newer team members on data standards, tools, and best practices. Act as point of contact between the team and next level senior management within MDG.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement related to customer master data management. Implement efficient workflows, automation, and best practices to enhance data quality and operational efficiency.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including sales, marketing, finance, customer service teams, Credit Management Team and Order to Cash Team to understand their data requirements and provide accurate and timely customer data support. Work with IT teams during system upgrades, data migrations, or workflow automation changes. Ensure alignment between business needs and data standards
- Reporting & Performance Tracking: Generate reports and provide insights into customer data metrics, trends, patterns and data quality metrics (SLI & KPI). Conduct data analysis to identify opportunities, bottlenecks or recurring errors and propose corrective actions for process optimization.
- Training & Continuous Improvement: Train colleagues on new processes, data validation rules, or system functionalities. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives. Help optimize workflows to reduce manual effort and improve data quality.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, Finance or Commerce. SAP certifications in MDG / S/4HANA (advantage)
- 3 to 4 years of experience in managing customer data governance (MDG) in SAP S4/HANA.
- In-depth knowledge of data management principles and practices, including data governance and data quality.
- Fair understanding of master data integration technologies such as ALE/IDOC, SOA, and Web Services
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Proficiency in using database management tools and systems.
- Analytical mindset and the ability to derive insights from data.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Continuous learning mindset to keep up with evolving data management trends and technologies.
- Must be flexible in working for any shift timings.
